CPR for the Spirit
What we know:
* The short, dark, cold days of winter can weigh heavily on our spirits.
* It can feel like a dull ache we stop paying attention to.
* No one ~ least of all ourselves ~ is going to invite us to step outside out daily lives for a bit of respite.
What we wish we knew:
* We can run on empty for only so long
* "Toughing it out" is an unnecessary position that we adopt and then feel compelled to see through.
* Taking time just to be quiet ~ and prayerful ~ is not selfish.
And now you DO know:
* We have quiet space, a hot meal, a warm bed with your name on it
* We have a quiet, peace-filled chapel for an hour's "time out".
* We have places to sit and read (or snooze), and beautiful grounds to roam.
Consider this our invitation to come for a morning or
afternoon...a day...an hour...an overnight.
You probably won't do this without a nudge, and the folks who are urging you to "keep on keeping on" certainly don't have a stake this.
So, what do you say???

APRIL 2010
4/16 - 4/17 Women’s Retreat
Don’t Just Do Something, Sit There! Chances are, more times than not, you find yourself “running on empty.” And we know that time to re-energize does not magically appear; we need to create it for ourselves.
Our challenge to you: carve out the 21.5 hours between7:00 pm April 16 to 4:30 pm April 17 as a time-out for yourself. Gather for prayer and then get a good night’s sleep, Saturday will be a mix of quiet time, reflection and discussion. Treat yourself to a massage.
The 21.5 hours? 12% of your week; 3% or your month; .2% of your year...don’t you owe it to yourself?
Presenters Alice Feeley, RDC and Center staff
Cost: $110.00 (Massage extra)
Reservation and deposit by April 10 a must

Facilitator: James Stewart, LMSW
7:00 pm April 30 to 4:30 pm May 1
